DescriptionCytidine monophosphate, also known as CMP or cytidylic acid, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrimidine ribonucleoside monophosphates. These are pyrimidine ribobucleotides with monophosphate group linked to the ribose moiety. Cytidine monophosphate exists as a solid, possibly soluble (in water), and an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa) molecule. Cytidine monophosphate exists in all living species, ranging from bacteria to humans.
