Metabolite Identification
Common Name19-Hydroxytestosterone
Description19-Hydroxytestosterone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Within cattle, 19-hydroxytestosterone participates in a number of enzymatic reactions. In particular, 19-hydroxytestosterone can be converted into 19-oxotestosterone through its interaction with the enzyme cytochrome P450 19A1. In addition, 19-hydroxytestosterone can be biosynthesized from testosterone through the action of the enzyme cytochrome P450 19A1. In cattle, 19-hydroxytestosterone is involved in the metabolic pathway called the androgen and estrogen metabolism pathway.
